Our Core Pillars

Founder's Biography & Vision

Ms. Tuanusanee Tonitae (Alice)

Founder's Journey

My name is Alice. I was born on 28 April 1982 in Phuket, Thailand. I began my education at a school in Phuket. After completing my upper-secondary education, my mother sent me to continue my studies in England at University College London (UCL), where I studied Arts and Business Administration.

While studying in the United Kingdom, I obtained a work permit as a traditional Thai musician, specialising in playing the khim, a traditional Thai hammered dulcimer. After classes each day, I travelled to perform Thai classical music at a Thai restaurant owned by Mr. Ahad. It was a large establishment with approximately 500 seats and was recognised as one of the leading Thai restaurants.

This period of my life taught me responsibility, perseverance, discipline, and the value of hard work. I continued this routine until I completed my studies.

After graduating, I returned to Phuket to continue the business established by my mother and elder brother under the name “Pool Care Thailand.”

Pool Care Thailand — Services & Scope:
Swimming-pool design and construction
Installation and upgrading of swimming-pool systems
Swimming-pool renovation and repair
Sale, import, and export of swimming-pool equipment
Swimming-pool cleaning and maintenance
Repair of pumps, filtration systems, and related equipment
Professional consultation and comprehensive swimming-pool services

* The company operates throughout Phuket and surrounding areas and supplies swimming-pool products and equipment across Thailand and throughout Asia.

The Amanah Entrusted by Our Benefactors

When my mother reached the age of 82 and became unwell, she asked me to find three commemorative books documenting the history and establishment of Muslim Wittaya Phuket School.

My mother and the school’s other founders received generous support from two important benefactors:

Dr. Mahmood Kazim

Co-founder & Benefactor

Mr. Nasser bin Abdullatif Alserkal

Co-founder & Benefactor

Their support led to the establishment of the Dubai Foundation and the construction of Muslim Wittaya Phuket School in 1986. At that time, I was approximately three to four years old. I witnessed my mother’s dedication as she worked from the beginning of the construction process until the school was successfully established.

The three commemorative books were created to record the benefactors’ contributions and the principal buildings established through their support:

  • The Nasser Abdullatif Building
  • The Dr. Mahmood Kazim Building
  • Dubai Mosque

The books preserve an important amanah—a sacred trust and intention—entrusted by the two benefactors. Their wish was that, in the future, the institution should not provide education only from kindergarten through Grade 12. If the opportunity arose, it should be developed into a university or a higher vocational institution offering bachelor’s degrees.

Their intention was to create educational opportunities for Muslim youth, particularly underprivileged students, children from families with limited financial resources, and orphans, enabling them to build better futures for themselves, their families, and society.

Today, the school serves approximately 3,000 Muslim students. This amanah is therefore not merely a memory from the past; it is a mission that I am determined to continue and bring to fruition.

The Vision of Halal Wellness World Phuket

I am currently developing the concept of “Halal Wellness World Phuket,” with the goal of establishing an international centre in Phuket dedicated to medicine, nursing, healthcare, rehabilitation, elderly care, education, and wellness-oriented residences.

The project’s vision includes:

A university specialising in medicine & nursing
An international hospital
A nursing and retirement residence
A wellness & medical rehabilitation centre
A mosque and community-service centre
Scholarships for disadvantaged youth
Luxury wellness residences and villas
Development Divisions:
1. Foundation & Public-Benefit

This division will comprise a mosque, university, hospital, nursing home, and retirement home. Its mission will be to provide education, medical services, nursing care, and elderly care while awarding scholarships to academically capable students who lack financial resources, including orphans and young people from low-income families.

2. Commercial Division Supporting the Foundation

While the project does not yet have sufficient charitable donations, a sustainable source of revenue is needed to support the foundation’s mission. This led to the concept of developing 20 Luxury Halal Residences. A portion of the proceeds from villa sales and Halal Wellness World memberships will be allocated to purchasing land, constructing educational and medical facilities, and supporting the foundation’s public-benefit activities.

Halal Wellness World Membership Concept

The proposed international membership programme has been initially designed to include important services such as:

1. Emergency Air Ambulance

Worldwide air-ambulance coordination, available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, for emergencies or cases requiring urgent travel for medical treatment.

2. Global Health Insurance

An international health-insurance plan with proposed coverage of approximately USD 3 million per case, subject to the terms, conditions, and approval of a licensed insurance provider.

3. Post-Treatment Recovery

Recovery at a Halal Rehabilitation Penthouse, Private Wellness Villa, or partner hotel, with nursing, nutrition, physiotherapy, and rehabilitation services.

4. Lawful Long-Term Residency

Coordination of lawful long-term residency in Thailand through an eligible visa or long-term residency membership programme, subject to the regulations and conditions of the relevant Thai government authorities.

* All programme details, fees, insurance coverage, and membership benefits will be subject to applicable laws, licences, contracts, and approval by the relevant authorities and authorised partners.

Educating a New Generation of Doctors & Nurses

At the heart of this project is the creation of educational opportunities for talented young people who lack the financial resources to pursue medical or nursing education.

The foundation aims to award scholarships to qualified students, enabling them to study at leading institutions. It will also seek academic collaboration with King’s College London or other appropriately accredited educational institutions.

After graduation, scholarship recipients will return to serve within the project, caring for patients, elderly residents, and members of the wider community. In this way, they will return the opportunities they received by contributing their knowledge and abilities to society.

Our goal is to “develop a new generation of doctors and nurses”—not merely to prepare them for a profession, but to cultivate knowledgeable and compassionate healthcare professionals who can make the greatest possible contribution to humanity.

The Founder's Commitment

My commitment is not limited to helping Muslims, because illness recognises no religion, race, or social status.

Halal Wellness World Phuket aims to welcome and care for everyone, whether Muslim or non-Muslim, through services founded upon respect for human dignity, personal beliefs, safety, and the equality of every life.

I believe that a successful business should help build a better society. The purpose of the project’s revenue is therefore not limited to generating profit. It will also provide the means to establish a university and hospital, award scholarships, care for elderly people, and enable disadvantaged children to become doctors, nurses, and professionals who bring lasting value to the world.

This is the amanah that my mother received from our two benefactors. It is now the mission that I am determined to continue with honesty, sacrifice, and the highest sense of responsibility.
